trash and vaudeville gets a website!

So if your not enthralled by chains and leather everything, then you should stop reading now. BUT, if you are, then by all means continue! So Trash and Vaudeville, a longtime landmark of New York's Lower East Side rock/grunge/punk scene, has finally opened a website to shop! I'm super excited because I love their shoes especially, but they also have some of the coolest leather jackets/vests ever. So while, I may not go around flaunting pants that could hold the delaware river, I still divulge into my little bit of rebel once in a while. I do realize this is a little crazy compared to my last post about one the children of preppy, JCrew, but I think my style can be described as a happy medium between the two. At least thats what I see it as... away from school. So now I'm off to upload my portfolio to FIT! Wish me luck!

obsessed.

If I could buy everything from JCrew, I would. Plus some of the mens collection, and crewcuts. Too bad everything is so expensive! And it is with a heavy heart that I admit they are a little overpriced. I only say this because I see how much fabric like they use costs, and it definitely is not more expensive then a down payment on a loft in Soho. Oh well... One day I will have it all!

workworkwork!

I'm off to our studio to work on my portfolio that is due in a few days. Of course, leave it to me to not be able to get anything done until the last minute, but thats just the way I work. Even if i do start working ahead of time, it's never as good, and I always end up changing my ideas at the last minute. So I guess that says that my best inspiration happens when I'm stressed and have no time left? Well, good thing I'm going into the fashion industry. From what I hear, there's a lot of that. Pictures will be posted later! But for now, this is what I've been playing over and over again:

portfolio... so far

This is my fashion design portfolio so far! I have a wool coat that needs photographing so that will be up later. And as I make things I'll try to photograph them, but they wont be as pro as the photos above.

new beginnings

So assuming my memory serves me correctly, this would be the 3rd blog I have started. However, I've made a commitment to actually keep this one. As we all know blogging has become some kind of elite group of kids in the 'blogging know', and various types of culturally conscious hipsters. So I'm jumping on the trendy bandwagon so can tell my kids one day, "oh yeah, I had a blog way before it became as average as facebook". Although by the time I might have kids, we will probably have teleports and alternate universes.
But maybe that's not the real reason I'm starting a blog. For some reason, It's so much easier to talk to the entire world via cyberspace, then to be candid with your best friends. Another reason is that I've always wanted to document major beginnings in my life. I have stacks of pictures taken with a disposable camera from middle school, along with handwritten letters from camp friends. But I missed that opportunity in high school (and I do regret it somewhat). So here I am, looking for the last handhold on what feels like, the highest climb in the world: high school.
I guess I just figure that life is going to get real soon. I'm sure it will be excruciating sometimes, but one can only hope the tough times are spread between the good. I mean, come on, I'm 2 years from hitting my 20's - supposedly the best times of my life. Yes I am excited but I'm also scared out of my mind. For the first time I get to create my own life. I'm on my own
